Welcome to Texas Legacy Kennels.

Our main focus is to preserve, protect and improve the quality of our ADBA registered American Pit Bull Terriers.

We do not participate, condone, promote, or support the use of dogs for any illegal activity.

If you are not interested in the many legal activities that can be pursued with this wonderful breed including, conformation shows, weight pulls, agility, companion, protection, hunting or ranch work I suggest you move on. This site is not for you. We would prefer you look elsewhere for trouble because you will not find it here.

The main bloodline represented within our kennel is based on Hammonds' Rufus. I have been lucky to be blessed with the good fortune of being associated with this bloodline since the early 1980's. You will find in researching our pedigrees that we are basically continuing the same breeding styles originated and refined by Gary Hammonds for the last 40 years. This bloodline will also include Bruno, Heinzl, and old Carver. You will see the infusion of individuals that originate from Maurice Carver's yard that were further improved upon by L.G. Green. These dogs are super individuals and his family of dogs has withstood the test of time. I made our first cross of these two families back in the early 1990's and you will see some of those dogs in the pedigrees of the dogs we have today. I want to personally thank these men for helping me in the development and preservation of our small family of dogs.

Our Kennel is closed to the public we do not sell dogs. We enjoy competing with our dogs in ADBA sanctioned conformation shows and weight pulls and relish the every day tasks associated with operating a small private kennel. We constantly strive to improve the care, housing and nutrition our dogs receive, by doing so we believe we can truly unlock the endless genetic potential of our family of dogs. This is our hobby. We operate our kennel for the sole purpose of our own personal enjoyment and satisfaction. We will occasionally produce a litter of pups within our kennel that will be exhibited in conformation show and weight pull competitions.

We have developed this site for the purpose of sharing information as it pertains to the well being for the American Pit Bull Terrier. If you appreciate our breed for what it is and can see the value in it's continued existence you are welcome to view and enjoy our website. Our views have evolved over a twenty-seven year experience we have enjoyed with this magnificent breed. The knowledge we have obtained over the years has been gained through the friendship and association of some of the greatest breeders in the history of the breed. If it wasn't for their tireless unselfish help we received from them over the years our knowledge would be extremely limited.

If you share the same interest as we do whether you are a new comer or an old timer please feel free to contact us. I believe it is best for the breed that experienced dog people share helpful positive information to benefit the future of our dogs. Our experience is an open book to anyone who shares our basic common beliefs.

We encourage the support of the Endangered Breeds Association, the freedom of dog ownership, and professional breeding practices.

We hope to see you at the shows!
